What we do, how we serve, and the impact our volunteers make in the Kittitas Valley.
KVVFA programs exist to support the volunteer firefighters of the Kittitas Valley and the community they protect. Our members serve as volunteer firefighters and emergency responders with Kittitas Valley Fire & Rescue, and the association stands behind them with training support, benefits, advocacy, and direct assistance when hardship strikes. Every program below is funded by memberships and donations and overseen by our volunteer Board of Directors.
Four ongoing programs, each tied directly to our mission and objectives.
We support the ongoing education of volunteer firefighters, from fire suppression and EMS fundamentals to specialized certifications and drills. Members train alongside the career staff of Kittitas Valley Fire & Rescue so they are ready when the tones drop, and the association works to remove cost barriers that keep volunteers from advancing.
Prevention is the cheapest fire to fight. KVVFA promotes fire prevention and life-safety education throughout Kittitas County Fire Protection District No. 2. We share seasonal safety guidance, participate in community events, and connect neighbors with the resources they need to protect their homes and land.
A dedicated fund providing direct assistance to KVVFA members, their families, and others in the community facing hardship. Whether it is a member injured in the line of duty or a neighbor displaced by fire, the Benevolent Fund lets the association respond with tangible help, not just sympathy. It is maintained separately from our General Fund.
We sponsor periodic events and outreach that strengthen the connection between volunteers, career staff, district leadership, and the public. We also represent the interests of volunteer firefighters so that volunteerism in the fire service continues to thrive in the valley. Our quarterly board meetings are open to all members.
Our members do not just hold meetings. They answer the call.

KVVFA was incorporated in March 2026 and recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization (EIN 41-4873740). In our first year, our work has included:
